ANNIE OKUHARA

TECHNICAL AUDIO DESIGNER
Annie Okuhara is a sound designer, technical audio designer, and
audio engineer from Los Angeles, CA. She has won awards from organizations including the School of Video Game Audio and the Game Audio Diversity Alliance. Her work has been selected for the Oniros Film Awards, Montreal Women Film Festival, the Jersey Shore Film Festival, and more. She is also a percussionist and foley artist earning sponsorship from multi-million dollar companies Blackmagic Design, Deity Microphones, and Mochinut.
Throughout my lifelong journey in the arts, my number one passion across all mediums has been storytelling. While training in classical percussion at Chapman University, I gained a great deal of expertise in recording technology and project management. I also sound designed over a dozen student films at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
Growing up in predominantly white New England as an Asian American inspired me to create stories that would empower minorities to make positive change in the world through art. As I write my own story, I continue to push for justice and equity in the game industry, as every creator deserves to have their voice heard through their craft.
